Office Live notes

I finally was able to remember the hotmail passwords I used for my accounts, but I have been unable to get the small business part (the web hosting part) to work on IE6, which lets me log in, but then sits there grinding away and eventually locks up. I think this is going to finally push me into getting Firefox. 9/15: installed FF.

tbd:
old mail is gone problem, and can't resolve with MS/hotmail.

9/15: submitted problem to officelive support (which I could not get to until I could resolve the IE6 cannot run smallbusiness.officelive.com issue.)

9/22 tbd:
why no one is probably using officelive, and general frustrating usage problems
ol looks and acts more complicated than it really is; ol compared to 1&1

Initial thoughts and comments

OfficeLive lives! These are comments about my experiences with the beta. It's the basic (MicroNaut name: Live Basics) version--no bells and whistles.

Groans & Grunts (complaints):

Some things cannot be changed (edited) except by starting over again. For instance, this blog has moved, and changing a link meant adding a new one and deleting the old.

A little slow. (I'm running a 166Mh Pentium and W98 over a dialup (not by choice)), and making a simple word change to a page can be glacial.

Kudos:

No need to fool with Frontpage and/or ftp. You really are making changes online and in real time. No HTML knowledge necessary. In fact, a little HTML familiarity may be a handicap, because you may know what you want to do, but there's no way to access the underlying code anyway.
